There will be a PCB Prototyping Tutorial with EAGLE software this Thursday (May 13) at 6PM, in Engineering IV 57-124. We will be learning how to create parts using EAGLE software, so please bring your laptops to this event. These events are very informative and worth your time, so hope to see you there!
A message from Jacob Portukalian on this tutorial:
PCB prototyping is a skill that is highly valued in industry, especially for small companies and R&D departments. In this 3-part tutorial, we will take you through layout of a PCB board in EAGLE including creating custom components, circuit trace layout, and post-layout processing. When you are done you will have a circuit and layout that you could either etch yourself or order it from a PCB fabrication house. The skills learned will apply, not only to PCB layout in EAGLE, but also to many other CAD programs, including CADENCE. Also covered will be standard SMT component sizes and footprints.
Bring: laptop with EAGLE installed. Sample circuit diagrams will be provided, or you can use your own.
We'll be expecting to see you there.

Professor of the Year Survey!
Please take a moment of your time to fill out this anonymous survey on who your professor of the year is! Go HERE.Extra IEEE meetings!:
There are IEEE meetings sponsored by the Coastal Los Angeles COM-SPS-VTS chapter held on on May 10 at UCLA. Please see http://www.ewh.ieee.org/r6/lac/csspsvts/IEEE.html for more information. These meetings would be a great way to network and meet IEEE members outside of our student chapter.
Mini Project WEEK 8
A Mini-project will also be held during 8th week (next week)! We will be teaching students about a basic fire alarm circuit. Also, more details to come.
Inter-IEEE Bonfire!
There will be a bonfire at the end of week 9, Friday, May 28. The bonfire will also have students from UCSD and UCI's respective IEEE groups. This would be an excellent opportunity to mix and mingle with students from outside universities.
Please make sure to mark these events on your calendars.
