Events!

Fire Alarm Mini Project!

A Mini-project will also be held on Wednesday(today) May 26, in Boelter 4760, at 6PM. We will be teaching students about a fire alarm circuit. Mini-projects are a great way to get into electrical engineering for some, and expand on previous knowledge for others. All parts will be provided, so bring your friends (even non-engineers would be welcome) This will be the last mini project of the year, so please come out to show your support. We put these on for you guys.

Inter-IEEE Bonfire!

There will be a bonfire at the end of week 9, Saturday, May 29, at Huntington Beach. The bonfire will also have students from UCSD and UCI's respective IEEE groups. This would be an excellent opportunity to mix and mingle with students from outside universities. If you would like a ride to the event, please meet at Ackerman Terminal at 3:45 PM, and will most likely last until 9-10 PM. Come and bring friends, and have a nice relaxing time before the end of the year! Please fill out this form if you do intend to attend: https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&pli=1&formkey=dENNVWZwNEVmZl9hYWVKRWJBeXBKMHc6MQ

Wanted: Mentors!

What is a Mentor?

  • Who: 2-5 incoming freshmen/transfers, probably undeclared engineering majors who need help deciding
  • What: Be a resource. If they have a question, they email you. You might meet them a few times. Most importantly, herd them as a group to see their faculty advisor. (All people in your group get the same advisor)
  • When: Fall Quarter for sure. Rest of the year too, probably, TBA.
There will be mentor-mentee only events - another great opportunity to get involved with IEEE! Note: this is a joint effort between IEEE, HKN, and the Engineering Department.
