PSoC, an integrated ciruit (IC) by Cypress Semiconductor, is a programmable embedded system-on-chip that integrates memory, microcontroller and analog/digital peripheral functions into a single cheap. Cypress Semiconductor is a supplier of proprietary and programmable solutions with specialties ranging from PSoC to USB.

IEEE CS Society is hosting a competition via video reply and is asking participants to pitch them the “next generation” application ideas for Moverio BT-100, an Android based high resolution see-through display with Wi-Fi connectivity. More information on Moverio BT-100 can be found here.

The IET, The Institute of Engineering and Technology, is a world leading professional organization sharing and advancing knowledge to promote science, engineering and technology across the world. With over 150,000 members across 127 countries, IET operates global technical and professional networks tailored to specific fields of engineering and technologies. In addition, it is also Europe’s largest professional body of engineers.
Present Around the World Competition is a presentation competition where the individual competitors are asked to make a 10 minute presentation on a science or engineering subject followed by a 5 minute Q&A period. The local network competition will be held in El Segundo on May 11th. Interested students need to supply a “presentation title” and a short (less than 100 word) “abstract” of their presentation by April 26th, 2013. More details about the competition can be found here. The participant must be between the ages of 18-26 years old.
