IEEE Essentials is a
series of workshops held throughout the year for members who do not have a whole
year to dedicate to UCLA IEEE’s year-long competition projects. This series
is dedicated to teaching participants in prototyping and electronics basics
through hands-on mini-projects that can be done in a few hours.
Want to make something special to commemorate the UCLA vs. USC victory (38-28, Go Bruins!). Come to the first IEEE Essentials of this year and make your very own UCLA PCB board, complete with blue LEDs and a yellow background. The PCB board is composed of a string of blue LEDs that spell out UCLA as your turn a knob, lighting up the LEDs one at a time.
Due to the limited
amount of kits, please come early as kits are distributed on a first come
first serve basis.

EAGLE under EAGLE’s download page.
For those interested
in circuit design, what is the equivalence of AutoCAD to us? The answer is
EAGLE. Come to the second IEEE Essentials workshop of this quarter and learn
not only how to use the design software but also design your very own voltage
regular circuit during the workshop. There should be sufficient computer
stations for all participants. But if you think you might be running late, it
is advisable to bring your own laptop.
